Palliative care is a specialized form of care that relieves pain and other symptoms. Fatigue: This generally is caused by the disease itself or by the medications. It is recommended to maintain an active social life which should include some limited exercises that’s within your reach or ability.  Medication, exercise, stress management, and nutrition are used to remove fatigue.

Shortness of breath: This is the major symptom of mesothelioma patients. It can be treated with medication or oxygen, but sometimes changing position, using relaxation techniques, or changing the air circulation may be also beneficial.

Loss of appetite: Maintaining a good nutrition program plays a vital role in the patient’s well being. Eating smaller amounts of food but more frequently, including high calorie and protein foods.

Gastrointestinal Problem: This problem is associated with disease itself and medications also. Doctor or nutritionist provides good nutrition to improve this situation.

Skin Problems: There is lot of skin problems associated with mesothelioma which includes- dryness, itching, rashes and ulcers. Dryness may be reduced by using cream or moisturizer. It is also recommended to drink plenty of water - 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

Anxiety/Depression: This disease may cause depression to anybody. Anxiety is common among people who suffer from any type of life-threatening disease, and can easily cause depression to family members and friends. Stress management, antidepressant medication or counseling may give some relief.
